Elvis At Stax

Description

In early 1973, Elvis released the successful live album Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite, after which he spent the first half of the year on tour. The second half of the year being devoted to recording new tracks in the studio, he decided to find a studio closer to home: the legendary Stax in Memphis. Although usually only Stax artists use the studio, they gladly welcomed the King. During two recording sessions at Stax, in July and December, Elvis recorded many hits, such as "It's Midnight" and "Promised Land", originally composed by Chuck Berry. This compilation brings together the best of these sessions.
