In May-June 1971, Elvis returned to Nashville to record tracks for several album projects: a Christmas album, a Gospel album, a "pop" album, and various tracks for single releases. He returned with the same band as for the previous year's session, also in Nashville. The recordings for this box set are presented for the first time without any overdubs, allowing listeners to hear Elvis and his band playing live in the studio, and the result is an extraordinary display of mastery with Elvis at the peak of his vocal artistry. The sound that emerged from these sessions would define Elvis's entire late career, a blend of "Muscle Shoals" Soul and country-rock. 4CD box set with 82 original recordings
