THE SOPRANO ELSA DREISIG RENDERS THE GREAT ARIAS OF MOZART'S OPERAS. Elsa Dreisig sees Mozart as the composer who inspired her to become a singer. The Franco-Danish soprano pays tribute to him today with an album entirely composed of arias from his operas. Its title, 'Mozart x3', refers to her program, centered around the masterpieces composed on librettos by Lorenzo da Ponte: The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Così fan tutte. Elsa Dreisig performs arias from three roles from each of the three operas. In addition to these nine arias from the da Ponte trilogy, three arias are chosen from three opera seria: La Clemenza di Tito, Idomeneo, and Lucio Silla. Elsa Dreisig is accompanied by the Basel Chamber Orchestra conducted by Louis Langrée, the new director of the Opéra-Comique in Paris.
