But what could possibly fascinate a 26-year-old Frenchwoman from the North of France about the myth of the United States of America, to the point of making it the beating heart of her music? The answer lies as much in the melodies as in the symbols. For beyond the banjo, guitars, and violins, it is a vision – that of a free and vast elsewhere – that drives her. Like an entire generation in search of meaning and new horizons, Eloïz has made the plains of the Wild West her territory of expression. This dream, she no longer fantasizes about it: she sings it. On the menu of this second opus, diversity is key: continuing from the first album, the folk sound is still present, but even warmer and more referential, as if to extend the journey further. From Song for You, the first track with an irresistible groove, to Les grands espaces, Americana, or Bye Bye, the urge to dance is immediate, even if the lyrics are not always peaceful. And even when the lyrics touch on more sensitive subjects, Eloïz's music is there to exchange "we stumble" for "we forget the world is crazy," more optimistic, more engaging, more resilient. Surrounded by a talented team – Edi Casabella, Théo Grasset, Igit, Jérôme Brûlant, Jonathan Cagne, Marso, and Jean-Étienne Maillard – Eloïz delivers an album that is both daring and accessible. It features energetic tracks, ballads (La Deûle pour océan, Pardonnez-moi), but also more stripped-down yet deeply touching songs (Dégaine feat. César, Là-dehors). And to emphasize the emotional dimension of the whole, she invited two iconic voices of French song: Florent Pagny and Gaëtan Roussel, both present on featurettes charged with emotion and sincerity. A way to further open the doors of her universe to a wide audience.
