In 1984 he released the album "Mouseketeer," recorded at Channel One studio, produced by Henry "Junjo" Lawes and accompanied by the musicians of the band Roots Radics. This album was remastered in 2009 with 2 bonus tracks, 'Teacher' and 'Anarexol'. Eek-A-Mouse was born in 1957 in Kingston, Jamaica. It was during the historic Reggae Susplash concert in 1981 that he was acclaimed by a huge audience who came to pay a final tribute to Bob Marley, who had just passed away. He is a very important figure in the history of Jamaican music because he helped create a new style, the "Singjay" style, in which the artist deejays and sings at the same time. This style is directly at the origin of the "Dancehall" movement of the 1980s. The vocal style of this DJ may have made him seem like an entertainer, but he is also capable of producing songs with social themes. Eek-A-Mouse's phrasing and vocal style consisted of emitting all sorts of onomatopoeias, sound effects, and strange noises with oriental connotations or reminiscent of the comic strip universe ("Bidibidibeng"). His great hit, "Wa Do Dem," perfectly illustrates this approach, reminiscent of the "scat" of Cab Calloway and Slim Gaillard. This track achieved enormous success.
