Ported by the powerful single 'A TON OF LOVE' which bears the influence of Bono, THE WEIGHT OF YOUR LOVE, the fourth studio album by EDITORS and the first recorded with its new members Justin Lockey and Elliott Williams, is, according to singer-songwriter Tom Smith, "a band record, a rock record with one foot in the altrock/americana world." Recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studio with renowned producer Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Kings of Leon, etc.) and mixed by Craig Silvey (Arctic Monkeys, The Horrors, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver), this album represents in many ways a new beginning for the band. The band's third album, In This Light And On This Evening, released in 2009, went straight to number one on the UK charts, just like its predecessor, An End Has A Start. In six years, since their first multi-platinum certified album, The Back Room, the band has seen many of its contemporaries disappear while it itself became one of the biggest European bands. Inspired in part by Scott Litt's work with REM and based on a live recording approach, THE WEIGHT OF YOUR LOVE contains EDITORS' most vehement and direct songs to date.
