Edena Gardens unveils its largest work to date. 'Quintessence' is structured in four parts, reminiscent of the 'Magnum Opus' - this ancient alchemical process of transformation. However, we are not in the realm of 'high fantasy', but facing a seismic meditation. An exploration of deep time, dense matter, and the overwhelming gravity of change. 'Quintessence' is a monumental work: over 79 minutes of controlled power, sculpted into six pieces of tentacular dimensions. The trio delves further into the void, discovering new dimensions. Each title allows the form to stretch and break its own limits, at the mercy of shifting soundscapes and unpredictable geometry. The heart of the work maintains a composed demeanor: a slow, relentless, and uncompromising progression. Such alchemy demands patience, giving each sonic mutation the necessary space to breathe, evolve, and crystallize in an unprecedented atmosphere. Recorded by Jonas Munk (Causa Sui), the album benefits from a natural and grounded production, giving the impression that the band is playing right in front of you: Jakob Skøtt (drummer of Causa Sui) drives the rhythm while bringing ethereal and sparse textures to the mix. Nicklas Sørensen (Papir) weaves sharp-angled guitar patterns over the deep foundations laid by the bass and baritone strings of Martin Rude. Martin also signs the original illustration - a work in its own right - which unfolds over four panels (one for each side of the vinyl) colored by Jakob Skøtt. The final result is a vast, physical, and imposing soundscape: their 'Quintessence'.
