After more than a decade of making music, Durand Jones & The Indications have bloomed as a band and are fully enjoying their success. On their aptly titled new album, Flowers, The Indications reveal their true colors—embracing all their roots and influences, their maturity and confidence, and sharing them with the world. Since forming in 2012, their journey has taken The Indications from their beginnings at Indiana University, Bloomington, to the international stage, filling venues in Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, all the way to the West Coast of the United States—where DJI enjoys strong popularity among lowrider and vintage soul enthusiasts. As far as Durand Jones & The Indications have gone, Flowers was born from a desire to return to their roots, in a Bloomington basement, that space where they first found camaraderie through raw funk and Southern soul that would inspire their eponymous debut album. Drawing both sonically and spiritually from each of the band’s previous albums and their solo projects, Flowers marks the next step in DJI's inspired soul discography. Not only are DJI receiving their flowers, but they are delighting in them, fully savoring their sweet and intoxicating fragrance.
