Durand Jones & The Indications are arriving with their eponymous debut album, combining haunting vocals, old-school percussion, subtle guitars, and wailing organs, resulting in a powerful blend of Soul and Funk. With a strong background in Gospel, Jones began his musical journey in church, singing in his hometown choir in rural Louisiana. When his music career took him to Bloomington, Indiana, he was selected to join the legendary University Soul Revue, and it was through his involvement that he met the songwriting and production duo Aaron Frazer and Blake Rhein. They then began writing pure Soul music, recording directly to tape in Bloomington basements – a process that captures the raw sounds found on the album.
