This is the third album from Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Trio Convulsant, and various collaborations with John Zorn) and Kevin Rutmanis (Tomahawk, Melvins, Cows, Hepa/Titus). For this album, Trevor teams up with Lords and Lady Kevin (the duo composed of Kevin Rutmanis and drummer/artist Gina Skwoz) for a full-length album entitled "Last Days at Hot Slit". The tracks are freely inspired by various gospel, blues, and jazz titles, some originals, others covers. Among them is a reinterpretation of Mingus's "Devil Woman." The trio composed the tracks from improvisations, then arranged them to create full-fledged songs. A multitude of instruments were used by all the musicians to create a captivating blend of sonic subtleties. The album's title is taken from a collection by writer Andrea Dworkin, often considered the Céline Dworkin of feminism.
