A discreet but ubiquitous pianist at Blue Note, Duke Pearson collaborated with many jazz stars such as Donald Byrd, Grant Green, Bobby Hutcherson, Hank Mobley, and many others. He was among the musicians who embraced innovative Hard Bop, eventually becoming a prominent figure in the early 60s.
Released in 1964, 'Wahoo' is the artist's 6th album and his 3rd on Blue Note as a frontman. Considered by purists to be one of the most successful Hard Bop albums, this fully analog gem, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original tapes, is available on 180-gram vinyl.
