Le Dr. Lonnie Smith is preparing to release his first Blue Note album in 45 years. The album will mark the return of the legendary Hammond B-3 organ master to Blue Note, the label where he distinguished himself in the late 60s, first as a sideman for saxophonist Lou Donaldson (notably on Alligator Bogaloo), and soon after (leading his own groups) with the famous soul-jazz albums Think! and Turning Point, which have become classics. Among the special guests are pianist Robert Glasper and saxophonist Joe Lovano, who made his debut as Lonnie's accompanist in 1975 (on his album Afrodesia).Buy Evolution at the best price
