For over two decades, Dr. Dog has shared a common devotion to the unruly alchemy of music. When it came time to create their eleventh studio album, the Philadelphia-based band adopted a whole new way of working together, embracing a multi-layered process designed to foster a deeper synergy among its five members. During the recording, Dr. Dog gradually leaned into the joyfully unrestrained psych-rock of their self-titled new album. True to the eclectic spirit that has always driven the band, the 11 tracks of Dr. Dog move from soul to surf-rock to symphonic pop with an exuberance made even more powerful by their revitalized creative energy.
