Claude Le Jeune (1530-1600): Le Printemps, 12 of the 39 songs, plus two songs taken from other collections. This is the first time that Le Printemps (1603) by Claude Le Jeune has experienced such a rejuvenation! For this masterpiece of "measured music in the Antique style" (understand Renaissance music inspired by a rhythm close to that of Antiquity), gone are the heaviness and monotony: the exemplary work done by Denis Raisin-Dadre, with the collaboration of declamation historian Olivier Bettens, aims to breathe new life into this polyphonic music through greater rhythmic flexibility based on the text's accents. Moreover, it draws on the pronunciation of Old French... The final touch to this astonishing renovation: the addition of a "column" quartet of flutes that subtly colors the vocal polyphony with the rare timbre of these instruments that sound like a small organ.
