Trumpeter Donald Byrd never stopped reinventing himself. He moved from Be Bop to Jazz Funk, detouring through Soul Jazz, which made him one of the most modern jazz musicians. In 1975, the artist released the album 'Places & Spaces,' which explored the beginnings of classy Funk, with its groove placing the virtuoso's trumpet in a funky and precise ensemble.
