In July 1973, Blue Note Records went to Montreux, Switzerland, to showcase several label stars at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Bobby Hutcherson, Ronnie Foster, Bobbi Humphrey, and Marlena Shaw each unveiled a live album following their performance, all titled 'Live: Cookin' with Blue Note at Montreux'. Now, nearly 50 years later, this recording of the dynamic ensemble of the great trumpeter will be officially released for the very first time on the occasion of what would have been Byrd's 90th birthday: next December 9.
