The Dynamite Masters Blues Quartet is back! Keenly is their 13th album since 1989, but the first in over 10 years and, in view of a North American tour, only the third DMBQ album to be released outside of Japan. It's a huge rock sound, exactly what the world needs to hear right now! The band consists of Shinji Masuko, Shinji Wada, and Maki. Since their last record, Shinji Masuko has been a member of Boredoms, where he made noise with guitars, tape recorders, or turntables for the Boadrum 77 and 88 projects and contributed to the Eye's Sevena project with a seven-neck guitar. For Keenly, DMBQ recorded over a long period. The band recorded themselves using vintage microphones, analog machines, and numerous amplifiers. In homage to the old school hard rock that inspires them, they recorded the album live. This also reflects the inspiration they draw from nature: the wind, water, sky, wildlife, and humans all have a significant influence on DMBQ.
