It's the grand return to electric music for Dirty Deep. The band has always managed to offer eclectic albums that confirm the trio's ability to convey their knowledge of the Blues in a genuine way, while also breaking its codes and sometimes even making it resonate to its most punk boundaries. For this new album "Trompe-L'œil," Dirty Deep takes a return journey in this approach that stylistically embraces the most distant sounds from their usual backbone, punctuating this 13-track collection with only a handful of references to the Delta that is dear to them. Sticky yet melodic, powerful yet precise, rough yet beautiful, it is thanks to François Maigret (aka Shanka) that these new harmonies resonate.
