This new album marks a return to the roots for Dino Saluzzi. In search of melody, he thus rediscovers the music of his homeland, Argentina, in all its splendor. The bandoneon evokes the burning sugar cane in the Siancas valley in Salta; the saxophone, a deep cry. This music has its origins in Northern Argentina, inflamed by mourning, desperate with joy; from nature coming to life; and also from the prayers of the inhabitants of this region to the Virgins of the high mountains, like the virgin of Urcupiña among others. This work is animated by different musical forms: dances such as the zamba, the carnavalito, or the chacarera, and the music of Buenos Aires, also present. Saluzzi secretly borrows rhythms from the tango and dives deeply into the milonga. With his musicians, he propels the popular music of Argentina into its most powerful form in a crescendo towards a most creative freedom.
