This program was born from a call for projects by the Musée de Grenoble on the theme of Bach and jazz. It was François Thuillier who encouraged me to go further.I took great pleasure and spent a lot of time developing and writing this repertoire, which is very demanding on an instrumental level due to the two aesthetics that need to coexist, but also very exhilarating, thanks in particular to the talent and personality of my two partners.Like a child hungry for knowledge and discovery, classical music has been nourished by the people and trials of the centuries. Jazz, for its part, was born over a century ago. But what is this recurring idea that sometimes seeks to affiliate it with the father of Western music?So, we can try to build a bridge across the centuries that separate Jazz and Baroque.Here then is a joyful and plural journey where the trombone, a royal instrument or colorist, the accordion, a luxury harmonium or strap-on harmonist, and the tuba, a continuo bass or "groove machine," will illustrate in their own way and in their own time, the musical genius of Bach.
