Description

The band's name comes from Hermann Hesse's novel Demian, and the band draws inspiration from various movements such as Alternative Rock and Post-Rock, claiming to be influenced by diverse artists ranging from Nick Drake to Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead, and Neil Young. Musically very different from its predecessor, the album once again received excellent critical acclaim and allowed the band to reach a wider audience this time. Demians having been a trio until then, guitarist Fred Mariolle joined the band after the release of "Mute" as a guitarist. The band announced on its Facebook page in March 2013 that it had been on an indefinite hiatus since 2011, and that no new album was in preparation. It was only in spring 2014 that Nicolas Chapel announced on the band's page that he was preparing a new album, which he intended to release completely independently.
