Some Other Suckers Parade is a fascinating addition to Del Amitri's catalog - Originally released on A&M Records in June 1997, the album captures a band confident in its success and gently breaking away from formulas. This reissue faithfully reproduces the original 1997 A&M UK version and is pressed on high-quality 180g vinyl. The band, led by bassist-singer-songwriter Justin Currie and songwriter-guitarist Iain Harvie, became as well-known for its sweet pop and acoustic ballads as for its shimmering melodic rock. Supervised by Breeders producer Mark Freegard, the album was largely recorded live and features touches of Crazy Horse and The Faces. Acoustic guitars were banned. The harmonious assault paid off: Some Other Suckers Parade, with its highly regarded singles Not Where It's At and Some Other Suckers Parade, entered the charts at number 6 in the UK. I really love the album because it's probably our least pretentious, Currie said in 1998.
