It wasn't until 2000, with the release of White Pony, that sales took off and Deftones began performing at all the major festivals. This opus is considered by most genre aficionados to be the band's definitive album, perfectly outlining a nu-metal sound whose pioneers are none other than Faith No More and Rage Against the Machine. Often associated with Korn, they have been the main activists of the metal scene in the U.S.A for over ten years.
