For the first time in four years, the beloved and acclaimed band Deer Tick announces its new albums—or rather, albums. Breaking away from convention and protocols, two new albums will be released on September 15th: *Deer Tick Vol.1* & *Deer Tick Vol.2*, both recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis. The two efforts complement each other with contrasting styles, perfectly illustrating Deer Tick’s two distinct musical personalities—ranging from reflective and calm to loud and rowdy. *Deer Tick Vol.1* highlights the band’s folk-rock side, always delivered with their signature dose of endurance. Frontman John McCauley showcases masterful, introspective, and omniscient songwriting, recounting internal struggles and external conflicts with the perfect blend of absolute sincerity and ironic presence of mind. With *Deer Tick Vol.2*, the band lets loose with a healthy dose of punk-inspired garage rock. Clever lyrics, infectious hooks, and captivating melodies define *Deer Tick Vol.2*, thanks in particular to bassist Christopher Ryan, who expertly flirts between authority and attitude. The opening track 'Don't Hurt', the edgy pop of 'Jumpstarting', and the boisterous punk of 'It's a Whale' reveal the "Jekyll & Hyde" aspect of *Vol.1* and *Vol.2*. *Vol.2* concludes with the turbulent 'Mr Nothing Gets Worse', where the three singers share a verse together—a feat that would have made even The Replacements proud.Disque 1
