Comparsa is the third studio album by the musical group Deep Forest. The group consists of the duo Michel Sanchez and Éric Mouquet and is known for composing a style of world music, blending ethnic sounds and rhythms with electronic sounds and beats. Their success earned them a Grammy Award nomination in 1994 for Best World Music Album, and they won the same award a year later with their second album Boheme. Comparsa emphasizes Latin and Caribbean grooves, provided by musicians from Cuba, Belize, Mexico, and Madagascar, among others. It became the #8 French export album of 1998 and was certified platinum by the SNEP Export Awards, with over 500,000 albums sold outside of France.
