Whistle and I’ll Come To You (Reimagined Score)/White Vinyl
Description
At a time when post-ambient electronica and troubled folk coexist, and where public interest in pagan rites and rituals is rekindled by a new generation of fans, the strange intrigue of Whistle And I'll Come To You seems more relevant than ever… and oddly enchanting. This ghost story, adapted by Jonathan Miller in 1968, originally formed part of the BBC's Omnibus series and featured Michael Horden as a meticulous professor who discovers an ancient whistle capable of summoning spirits. A black-and-white folk tale in the spirit of The Wicker Man, the original television program received rave reviews. The esoteric soundtrack was recorded live at the Hypnos Theatre in Malmö. The 42-minute soundtrack employs choppy tape loops on the "Intro," before bringing to life a primitive drum machine reminiscent of John Carpenter on "Supernatural Breakfast," while "Walk On The Beach 2" sounds like a hauntological interpretation of a Broadcast classic. This effect is further amplified on "Nightmares," with its swirling wind and otherworldly choir, before the sensation of a supernatural presence is suggested on the penultimate track, "Evidence Of Spiritualism."
