This new album by Dead Rat Orchestra was originally the soundtrack for the BBC documentary The Guga Hunters of Ness. The documentary follows the journey of ten men from the Ness community on the Isle of Lewis (Scotland) during a traditional gannet hunt. This British band, which has been around for almost 10 years and defies conventions, especially on stage, studied the folk music of this region of the Scottish Isles for this album and decided to record in a lightship; perhaps the only studio whose acoustics are subject to the tide.
