Going South

Description

Dead Moon, a trio from Portland, Oregon, was known for their distinctive garage punk roots style. Though their sound ranged from moody to aggressive, it was always remarkably authentic and energetic. Dead Moon formed in 1987. Going South is an incredibly intense live recording from the band’s legendary 20-date maiden tour of New Zealand. Recorded in front of a 40-person crowd in Invercargill (what Keith Richards called “the arsehole of the world”) on September 5, 1992, it’s the wildest, most intense Dead Moon record, just as they were meant to be heard! The band had been invited to open for Nirvana that year, but one of Fred Cole’s unwavering rules was never to cancel a booked gig for a better one. So, Dead Moon toured New Zealand as planned.
