Dan Tyler and Conrad McDonnell, aka Idjut Boys, are an English duo whose heavy dub house tracks incorporate their playful love of life. The duo met in the late 80s in Cambridge, discovering that they shared a similar passion for music. Shortly after, both moved to London and created the U-Star parties. The fusion of dub, house, and techno from the Idjuts quickly gained traction and earned them DJ gigs around the world. McDonnell and Tyler founded U-Star Records in 1993, releasing their first 12" Idjut Boy. They continued to release numerous 12" records throughout the 90s up to the present, consisting of original productions, as well as remixes and reissues of obscure and not-so-obscure material by other artists and a handful of DJ mixes. A true studio album by the Idjut Boys, Cellar Door, was released on Smalltown Supersound in 2012. It was followed by Versions, a covers album of material from the duo's entire career, in 2015. On this 12" vinyl, the Idjuts remix a single, "What Is Life," from the latest Do You Need A Release by De Lux.
