With *Graze the Bell*, David Moore unveils his first solo piano album, a collection of meditative pieces that distill the full subtlety of his art. Known for his atmospheric compositions with Bing & Ruth and his collaborations with Steve Gunn and Cowboy Sadness, Moore transforms his personal experiences into transcendent impressions, using the piano as an instrument of introspection on the human condition. Some compositions originally intended for Bing & Ruth have been reimagined for this solo record, allowing him to experiment and develop his relationship with the instrument. Recorded at Oktaven Audio studio in Mt. Vernon, New York, *Graze the Bell* highlights the exceptional tone of a 1987 Steinway Model D, captured by producer Ben Kane with the assistance of Owen Mulholland. The album's title evokes the idea of just barely touching the surface to feel its essence. Moore integrates his idiosyncrasies and those of the piano, allowing for spontaneous gestures and subtle sounds. The embroidered cover by Moore, depicting his wife flying a kite on the North Carolina coast, reflects the album's intimacy and meditative dimension. *Graze the Bell* will be released on January 30, 2026, on vinyl, CD, and digitally via RVNG Intl.
