Description

Since his first album dedicated to Bach, which revealed a young and bold artist, pianist David Fray has returned several times to the music of the Kantor of Leipzig in various forms, including concertos, solo piano, or recently in chamber music with Renaud Capuçon. He has an instinctive affinity for this music that he knows how to make sing. He returns once again for a monumental work, a grand piano journey that keeps all its secrets. The Goldberg Variations, an immense work due to its abundant richness, indeed hold a special place in Bach's oeuvre: many pianists confront it, as if the 30 variations of this work reveal a small part of their soul over time.
