Mercurial Silence is the second solo album by David Eugene Edwards, known for 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand. A European tour with 16 Horsepower is scheduled for May/June 2026, culminating at Fire in the Mountains. A headlining European tour will follow in September/October 2026. For over 30 years, Edwards has carved a unique path between gothic folk, spiritual rock, and experimentation. This new album extends Hyacinth (2023) while broadening its sonic universe. It incorporates more electronics and layered textures. His distinctive voice evolves between bowed strings, percussive drones, and spectral pads. Recorded in Denver with Vincent Petitjean, then mixed in Los Angeles with Derek Coburn. The 12 tracks explore the connections between heaven and earth through narratives and symbols. The album blends acoustic instruments and electronic production in a dense and immersive atmosphere.
