YOUNG AMERICANS (50TH ANNIVERSARY)HALF SPEED MASTERING
Description
March 7, 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the release of YOUNGAMERICANS, David Bowie’s ninth studio album. On the very day of this anniversary, YOUNG AMERICANS will be reissued as a limited-edition 50th anniversary remastered half-speed vinyl release. On this album, David Bowie once again broadened his musical horizons by embracing “plastic soul,” which would earn him his first U.S. number one single, “FAME,” co-written with John Lennon and Carlos Alomar, then Bowie’s guitarist. This album was partly influenced by the “Philly Sound” and was recorded in Philadelphia at Sigma Sound Studios during a break in the DIAMONDDOGS tour, with a band including the faithful Mike Garson on keyboards, as well as the late Luther Vandross on vocals and David Sanborn on saxophone. During the sessions produced by Tony Visconti at Sigma Sound, David Bowie immersed himself in soul music and created a new alter ego, The Gouster, an argot term meaning a hipster from the ghetto.Buy YOUNG AMERICANS (50TH ANNIVERSARY)HALF SPEED MASTERING at the best price
