Dans les années 1990 imprégnées de cyber, David Bowie se montre une fois de plus en avance sur le jeu. Outside 'is the twentieth album of David Bowie and was initially released in 1995. The album saw Bowie reconnecting with producer Brian Eno, creating a diverse and experimental album incorporating art rock, jazz, ambient, industrial, and electronic. Inspired by Twin Peaks as well as foreign art and artists, the album has a concept following the investigation into the murder of detective Nathan Adler in a world where artistic crimes and conceptual assaults occur. 'Outside' is more a monumental collage of techno-war coldness than a simple album. Bowie combines the most essential pieces of each of his characters and previous musical styles to make 'Outside' a very dense song cycle with a storyline.
