The Norwegian legends of black metal are making their return with a sublime album in the purest underground spirit! After 'Arctic Thunder' (2016), Fenriz and Ted 'Nocturno Culto' Skjellum return with a new album titled 'Old Star' and an endless mastery and dedication to the art of the riff. In 30 years, Darkthrone has become one of the global pillars of black metal, establishing itself as one of the most renowned and influential bands in the genre. The band, formed in 1987, initially experimented with Thrash, then Death/Doom Metal with broader musical influences, ranging from the '60s to '80s until the release of their first album, 'Soulside Journey' (1991). Then the band quickly adopted a much darker and more primitive form of expression on the iconic second album 'A Blaze in the Northern Sky', and the rest is history. With 'Old Star', the Norwegian legends offer us 6 new epic tracks, the best of the old school Heavy & Extreme Metal, loaded with Doom riffs from the underground! The album was recorded in the band's studios, Necrohell 2, produced by singer/guitarist Nocturno Culto, complemented by a perfectly organic mix by Sanford Parker (Voivod) at Hypercube studios, and mastered once again by Jack Control at Enormous Door.
