COLOURFIELD

Description

"Colourfield" marks Dan Michaelson's first release as an instrumental artist and his debut on Village Green Recordings. Having found support on Elizabeth Alker's Unclassified show on Radio 3, which praised him, and on Gilles Peterson's eclectic show, "Colourfield" draws inspiration from artists as diverse as John Luther Adams, Spiritualized, Laurie Anderson, Brian Eno, and Gavin Bryers. Working closely with violist and conductor Robert Ames and violinist Galya Bisengalieva, the result is a vast soundscape. "The hope is to get lost in it, to come out the other side not remembering where you started."
