Description

Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang performed in the legendary band Galaxie 500, then as a duo under the name Damon & Naomi. The pair also heads Exact Change, a small publishing house dedicated to disseminating avant-garde literature and artists' writings. Damon is an author himself (books, blogs, articles for Artforum, Frieze, Pitchfork, and others), and Naomi is a visual artist (photography, video, and graphic design). FORTUNE is a silent film directed by artist Naomi Yang, with an original soundtrack by her band: As intrinsically silent as the work may be—which addresses the theme of the artistic legacy left to their offspring by a deceased father (in this case, those of the film's hero Norman von Holtzendorff and Naomi Yang herself)—it benefits from a proper soundtrack played and sung by the band.
