Damien Fleau is part of this generation of composers who do everything themselves. A multi-instrumentalist — trained as a saxophonist and pianist — this musician with many influences is above all passionate about the world of cinema. His references range from Mozart, Ravel, Wagner, and Ennio Morricone to Nihls Fram, Steve Reich and Philippe Glass. His experience of the stage brings a very particular openness and sensitivity to his work. His references, his musical and cinematic culture allow him to offer his various collaborators, directors among others, but also television programs and commercials, a wide range of musical styles. This diversity has led him to work with directors such as Coline Serreau for her film "Tout est permis", or with New Yorker Shawn Christensen (Oscar for Best Short Film) for his film "The Vanishing of Sidney Hall". He thus moves from music tinged with electronic sounds and analog synthesizers to music that is much more orchestral, in the vein of composers such as Reich or Glass. He has just finished the soundtrack for the series about the singer Soprano, "A la vie à la mort", soon available on Disney +. Through his personal compositions, he brings to life groups such as KAST, an electro-pop duo. But also FESTEN, a jazz quartet with strong cinematic references. In 2023, he released his first solo piano album: "Breaking Waves".
