Amsterdam natives Maarten Smeets and Lars Dales, aka Dam Swindle, unveil their third long-player via Heist Recordings. The new album sees the acclaimed duo dive well beyond the deep sonic waters for which they are best known, exploring lower tempos, synth-wave, hip-house, and ambient across fourteen tracks. With a gestation period spanning several years, "Open" is their most intimate and personal work to date, born during a period of introspection away from touring and personal transformation as individuals.Under the direction of Maarten and Lars, A&R experts, their label Heist has become a cherished home for house music leaders of both old and new schools, featuring some of the biggest names in dance music, from Cinthie to DJ Sneak, as well as the musical debuts of artists such as Kassian and Makèz. The Dam Swindle alias has achieved house music royalty status over a 15-year career that includes two critically acclaimed albums, collaborations with artists like Tom Misch and Kerri Chandler, and a worldwide touring schedule.
