Dalhia is a project launched in 2018 by the singer, Rachel Geoffroy, quickly joined by Simon Vouland as drummer and machinist. Within the project, they explore the dark and cavernous nuances of electronic and psychedelic music. The influences are varied, from post-punk to hip-hop. The songs are macabre dances where tortured pop and hypnotic rhythms intertwine. DALHIA creates a melancholic, singular, and mystical universe. The name Dalhia originally referred to the flower, but this stage name has evolved and its meaning has become plural. Indeed, the L and the H have been inverted, allowing for a representation more in line with their universe: L for ladies and H for men. Indeed, the duo's universe reveals the feelings and questions that reside in the common man. It is both dark, bright, mystical, and personal. The next project, VIVA 4 EVER, is an EP of 6 tracks with facets as complex as that of the individual. As singular and complex as it may be, the album will address themes of love and hate, betrayal and existential crises, recurring themes in the group's productions. By tackling subjects such as violence, disillusionment, and the complexity of human relationships, Dalhia does not seek to beautify deviant situations but to recreate this dark mood while bringing in light, hope.
