The highly anticipated new album from Cymbals is named after a book by Princeton academic Daniel T. Rodgers. The book addresses the fragmentation of ideas at the end of the last century and the loss of collective meaning. Jack Cleverly, the band's singer and guitarist, writes: "I often feel paralysed by the feeling that everything is too complicated, and many people around me feel the same way. I realised that this thought is reflected in these songs." The Age of Fracture was produced by Dreamtrak (Swim Deep, Chad Valley, Hot Chip) in his Hackney studio and written collectively over the past 12 months. The band took their time to carefully build this album, song by song, sequence by sequence. Daniel Rejmer (Foals, Everything Everything) then carried out the final mix. The result shows the band's attention to detail, with a clear and bright sound.
