This is the new project from Seth Olinsky, a member of Akron/Family. The Cy Dune album will be released this summer, while Akron/Family are releasing a new album in April. Seth Olinsky began the story of Cy Dune with a songbook: 100 songs he composed over 5 years during his travels, tours, and performances with Akron/Family, or collaborations with Rhys Chatham, Michael Gira, William Parker, Hamid Drake, Keiji Haino, and Tatsuya Nakatani. These 100 tracks were finished and on demo in 2010. In 2011, Olinsky moved to the desert and began recording acoustically, but through a revelation (his mother gave him Patti Smith's album "Just Kids" for Christmas), he finally plugged in his guitar and electrified his songs. This EP, No Recognize, documents this transformation, this almost shamanic and deeply American revelation in essence and themes.
