No Recognize

Description

This is the new project by Seth Olinsky, a member of Akron/Family. The Cy Dune album will be released this summer, while Akron/Family are releasing a new album in April. Seth Olinsky began the Cy Dune story with a song-book. 100 songs he composed over 5 years, through his travels, tours and performances with Akron/Family or collaborations with Rhys Chatham, Michael Gira, William Parker, Hamid Drake, Keiji Haino or even Tatsuya Nakatani. These 100 tracks were finished and demoed in 2010 and in 2011 Olinsky settled in the desert and began recording acoustically, but through a revelation (his mother gave him Patti Smith’s album Just Kids for Christmas) he finally plugged in his guitar and electrified his songs. This EP, No Recognize, documents this transformation, this almost shamanic revelation, deeply American in its essence and themes.
