The return to house music of the iconic producer from Sheffield! CROOKED MAN is the new character created by Richard Barratt, a discreet yet essential musician and DJ from the Sheffield dance scene - he is releasing the first album under this pseudonym on DFA Records! Barratt's career, a.k.a. Dj Parrot, indeed began in the early 90s with projects such as Sweet Exorcist in collaboration with Richard H. Kirk (Cabaret Voltaire) and several releases on Warp. He is also found in 1999 as part of the trio All Seeing I with the album Pickled Egg & Sherbet, which reached the charts. Since 2012, Barratt has self-produced three EPs and then collaborated with Optimo on the EP Undigitize in 2014. With CROOKED MAN, he has rediscovered his love for vintage sounds and house music with heavy bass, which he enriches, for example, with acoustic piano on the single 'Happiness dna5'.
