In February 2026, now under her own name and on Humpty Dumpty Records, Coraline Gaye will release La couverture des choses, a French chanson album that sits on the border between classical and strange, between softness and violence. The precision of the words and Coraline’s clear voice remain central, but the naturalistic themes of the EP here open more fully onto those of relationships: to oneself, to the other, to the child, to war, to the landscape, to the collective, to resistance, to love. Coraline wrote and composed these 11 tracks, co-produced with musician Thomas Van Cottom (cabane). Claire Vailler (Midget!, Transbluency) wrote and performed the backing vocals, organs and baritone guitar; Sacha Toorop (Dominique A, Emily Loizeau,...) the bass and drums; Nicolas Arnould composed the guitar arrangements on some tracks. It is English musician Mike Lindsay (Tuung, LUMP,...) who finalized the album by bringing the songs together under one sonic roof through a creative mix infused with vintage textures and drum machines. With La couverture des choses, Coraline Gaye unveils eleven delicate tracks that explore intimacy and affirm her place as a singer-songwriter in the French-speaking musical landscape. Through narratives that unfold along an axis ranging from the infinitely close to the universal, the singer takes a stand, acts. Her lyrics are incisive, her words performative. Coraline Gaye’s music and lyrics reflect a poetic sensibility supported by a precise vision of what surrounds her. From the forests of the Belgian Ardennes in which she likes to lose herself, she brings back an exploration of everyday life, interiority, the social body, maternal or romantic love. With her clear voice, she finds the strength to sing loudly and clearly what she wants to be heard.
