COMMANDER CODY performed at Rockpalast on July 1, 1980. Art student George Frayne had already achieved cult status with his band COMMANDER CODY AND HIS LOST PLANET AIRMEN. The name, derived from a sci-fi TV series, as well as their music (a clever mix of boogie, rock'n'roll, country) allowed them to gain significant fame.
