Formed in London in 1992 by singer and songwriter David Christian, Comet Gain drew inspiration from early Creation Records, Television Personalities and mod culture, sharing the same ideals as Dexys, The Style Council and Vic Godard, and following in the lineage of bands like The Velvet Underground, The Byrds and The 13th Floor Elevators.Over the years, the band released eight albums on prestigious labels such as Wiiija, Kill Rock Stars, What's Your Rupture and Fortuna POP!, blending French New Wave and English social realism, Riot Grrrl and acid punk, and C86 and post-punk and Northern Soul. Their music has managed to transcend eras and inspire a new generation of independent musicians.Comet Gain is a whole universe of post-punk, DIY, indie pop, international underground pop, lo-fi, garagebeat and folk-rock. Mixed vocals, saturated guitars, enchanting noise textures and raw melodies, enthusiasm and melancholy: it's all there.The album City Fallen Leaves was originally released in 2005 on Track & Field in the UK and on Kill Rock Stars in the US. It is now being reissued worldwide by Tapete Records.
