TINY DYNAMINE / ECHOES IN A SHALLOW BAY

Vinyl comprising the EPs "Tiny Dynamite" and "Echoes in a Shallow Bay" (released two weeks apart in 1985 before the 4th studio album "Victorialand" and including "Pink Orange Red", "Ribbed and Veined", "Plain Tiger" and "Sultitan Itan"). In their prolific discography, the Cocteau Twins have always given EPs a special and equally important place. These EPs are keystones between the band's albums, without which the transition from one to the next would be much more abrupt. "Tiny Dynamite" and "Echoes in a Shallow Bay" are inseparable because they came from the same recording session and the same studio: Guerilla Studio in London. They are also inseparable because they bear the same production quality, as brilliant as it is sensual and opulent. The Cocteau Twins are not songwriters but "soundmakers", creators of atmospheres, textures and colours, and the covers developed by Vaughan Oliver have rarely depicted the music so well visually.
