Kiri Variations

Description

Clark, a star of the Warp label, will release 'Kiri Variations' via his own label Throttle Records - and, as always, he has transformed musically into something new. This album of plaintive, unsettling, and almost childlike beauty embodies his constant ability to turn the narrative and coherently organize an abundance of new ideas. Mysterious pieces of morbid beauty, driven by piano, harpsichord, clarinet, strings, electronics, and voice, are interspersed with incredibly original curvy motifs: the naïve faux-naïf. 'Kiri Variations' began as the score for the BAFTA-nominated TV program 'Kiri', but only a small part (and very effective) of the recorded music was used - with intentional moderation - by director Euros Lyn. This initial incarnation has since grown and transformed into something entirely its own; a proper artist album.
