Comparing Gary Clark Jr to Jimi Hendrix would be more than legitimate given his exceptional guitar playing. Oscillating between classic Blues, Soul, and Rock, the young man was discovered at the age of 15 by Clifford Antone, an iconic figure of the Texas Blues scene from which he hails. Influenced by John Lee Hooker, Curtis Mayfield, and Snoop Dogg, Gary Clark Jr is the rising star of the moment. However, the young man is not entirely new to the scene. He released his first album at 17, Worry No More (2001), an eponymous EP in 2010, prestigious opening acts, and he was even the first 'newcomer' invited to Eric Clapton's Crossroad Guitar Festival. Moreover, in his hometown of Austin, May 3rd is now named after him. You guessed it, Gary Clark Jr is already a great. Now signed to Warner Bros, he is working on his first album, which we hope will be released very soon. The renewal of Blues, perhaps? A raw talent, certainly!
