CLAPTONE has kept the mystery surrounding the release of Charmer, his first album. The Berlin DJ and producer had, however, dropped some significant hints with the successes of the first singles: "Ghost" (featuring Clap Your Hands Say Yeah) and the hit "Dear Life" featuring JAW, not to mention the excitement generated around the remix of Gregory Porter. Now signed to Different Recordings, CLAPTONE presents a first opus influenced by all the music he has absorbed during his travels. While the German's music, built around a steady house pulse, remains highly relevant in clubs, he takes a more indie turn here by mixing dance and vocals. Prestigious collaborations, such as those with Peter, Bjorn & John, Young Galaxy, and Nathan Nicholson (The Boxer Rebellion), enrich Charmer and attest to CLAPTONE's insatiable musical desire. Placing more importance on the impact of his productions than on revealing his identity, the masked DJ lets his music alone charm us.
